Counseling

If in your life you are confronted with events of mourning, loss and possible questions of meaning, you can get stuck in this at some point. Especially when it comes to situations that have been around for some time, where you are dealing with multiple forms of loss and also where it is about how to (re) shape your life. This naturally entails questions and emotions that are not always understood by the environment. Perhaps it is incomprehensible to yourself and it feels like you no longer recognize yourself.

Counseling can help you in such situations. Counseling is a form of psychological assistance that is aimed at supporting you in dealing with the situation and also towards working towards concrete goals. As a counselor I am independent and I look at your situation without prejudice. There is plenty of room to tell your story and to reflect on what has happened and what you may not be talking about in everyday life.

Method
Counseling starts with getting acquainted and mapping your situation and your wish. We then explore your options together in the conversations and how you can put them into practice. The time required for this depends on your wishes and circumstances. On average 3-5 sessions are enough.

Cooperation with the Crohn and Colitis Ulcerosa Association Netherlands (CCUVN)

My professional association, the National Association of Psychosocial Workers (LVPW) is in a partnership with the Crohn and Colitis Ulcerosa Association of the Netherlands (CCUVN). This collaboration makes it possible to share and use each other's knowledge for patients with Crohn's disease and patients with ulcerative colitis. These chronic inflammations of the gastrointestinal tract or Inflammatory Bowel
Diseases (IBD) can have major and even debilitating consequences for both the private life and the work situation of the, often young, patients. I am part of the group of therapists who receive additional training every year in the field of the physical and psychosocial consequences of IBD. This allows me to offer support to IBD patients and their loved ones in the influence of the disease on their daily lives.
